Session 1: Advancing on Subnational Measurement of Tourism from Official Statistics

Sesión 1: Avances en la medición subnacional del turismo desde las estadísticas oficiales.

Los estándares internacionales sobre cómo abordar la medición del turismo a nivel subnacional están todavía por ser consensuados y definidos. Esta sesión servirá para aprender y debatir sobre experiencias en el ámbito subnacional desde la estadística oficial llevadas a cabo en Japón, Italia, Alemania, Colombia y España.

Se abordan experiencias de diversa índole, desde aprovechar lo que existe para el nivel nacional para poder derivar sobre el nivel subnacional,sistemas de indicadores, estudiar fenómenos específicos como las viviendas de uso turístico,  entre otros.

Session 1: Advancing on Subnational Measurement of Tourism from Official Statistics

International Standards on how to address the measurement of tourism at the subnational level are still to be defined and agreed upon. This session, focused on the official statistics perspective, will be useful to learn and discuss about the experience at the subnational level from Japan, Italy, Germany, Colombia and Spain.

Different experiences will be addressed, from taking into account what is already available for the national level and derive it to the subnational level, to indicator systems, studying the phenomenon of vacation homes, among others.
